Spoil Yourself On Valentine’s Day

Keep scrolling

Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to something special. Buying gifts for yourself means you are guaranteed to love it and there is a certain satisfaction in spoiling and pampering yourself with your hard-earned money. It’s a wonderful feeling to gift yourself something you’ve had your heart set on, and it’s a cherished moment to know that you were able to make yourself happy. Here are a few highly recommended gifts to consider!

A Hug For Your Feet

I love slippers. I always travel with my slippers. I talk, even brag, about my slippers a lot. And I’ve gone through a few favorites over the years. Most recently, the Jenni Kayne Shearling Moroccan Slippers have won my heart. When I’m home, my feet haven’t been without them.

They’re cozy, warm, soft, easy to take on and off, but don’t fly off your feet… just perfect. They come in two colors, and there are two styles one with the shearling on the outside, and one with suede on the outside. Both soles are suede and shearling on the inside. Every time I put on these squishy beauties, I feel spoiled, loved and cared for.

Indulgences

For the ultimate indulgence, try the Aman Bath and Body Products. I’ve tried a couple products from the line, the Nourishing Coconut Milk Bath and the Grounding Body Oil, and WOW! The Nourishing Coconut Milk Bath is so decadent. With its extra fine powder that dissolves in the bath instantly,

it leaves behind the silkiest water and leaves your skin even softer and silkier than you thought possible. Finish off your bath time with the Grounding Body Oil and you’ll be glowing for days. I think I have to try the Sacred Heart Balm. It sounds divine!

Beautiful Trinkets

Is jewelry cliche for Valentine’s Day? Absolutely. But recently I started buying myself jewelry to commemorate milestones. Leaving a full-time job to start my own business meant a beautiful gold and pearl ring from Lene Vibe. Another recent occasion meant baroque pearl earrings from Lucifer Vir Honestus. So why not commemorate this Valentine’s Day with a beautiful trinket.

I’ve been loving all of my Dean Davidson pieces. They’re incredibly versatile, well-made and gorgeous. I am constantly getting compliments on my Dune Huggies or my Signature Small Beaded Necklace worn with my Pave Initial Necklace. And if anything on the Dean Davidson site catches your eye, use the code MICHELE25 and get 25% off your order!

Transport Yourself

Nothing sets the mood better than candlelight. And to me, nothing is more transportive than fragrance. Combine the two and you can forget all your troubles, and create visions from nothing. I love choosing just the right scent for the room, time of day, time of year and the mood I’m in. For Valentine’s Day I love bringing out all my sexy rose-scented candles. I hear people describe a rose scent as being “grandmotherly”, and I couldn’t beg to differ any harder.

First of all, grandmothers are amazing. Second of all, you must not be smelling the same kind of roses I’m smelling. Roses smell sweet and floral, and dark and mysterious at the same time. There aren’t many flowers out there that have a little bit of everything. Here are some of my favorites that are very far from smelling old and stale: Diptyque Roses, Jo Malone Red Roses, Byredo Burning Rose

Here are some fragrances that I like to describe as “third date” fragrances, IYKYK (wink wink). These fragrances are sexy and inviting, and I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about many of these before. Hypnotizing Fire from The Harmonist is a smoky gourmand that is exactly what its name says – hypnotizing. Eau Rihla has the most mysterious mixture of leather and raspberries. The leather brings you in, and the raspberries open your heart.

It’s such an unexpected combination that I’ve been wearing it nonstop since purchasing a few weeks ago.

L’Ombre Dans L’Eau, Portrait Of A Lady and Rose Oud all have a strong rose note. Deep and mysterious they’re paired with different notes in each. A little black currant in L’Ombre Dans L’Eau, a little smokiness in Portrait Of A Lady and a little woodiness in the Rose Oud. All very sensual!

Be good to yourself.

Great suggestions! I used to dislike the rose scent when I was younger but as I mature, I’ve started to appreciate it more and more. I’m down for it!

I don’t know what to journal. I literally live such a boring life due to my chronic illness and chronic pain that I don’t know what to journal about. I don’t want to journal about my chronic conditions because that’s depressing to me. I literally just stopped writing here and looked up How To Journal lol. It actually was helpful, there are journal prompts. I do have goals, it’s just hard because of how I feel changes day to day and I can’t count on myself to feel physically well enough to do something each day that I get frustrated and depressed. It’s a lot for me to just do the dishes, take a shower, etc much less do something extra like start a YouTube channel or post more on ig. I’m lucky though, my husband is very supportive and he said just try to post once a week. And that’s what I’m going to try to do.
Thank you for listening <3 xo Charli

Wow Michele! I feel inspired now to start exercising. I used to always take exercise in school. When I moved to the US I took Physical Ed and realized most girls didn’t. I was kind of shocked. I don’t smoke anymore either! But I don’t like running on Rt.66. This Covid made me gain way too much. Moreover, I love to read. Thus the weight gain. Am not sure where to begin. If I had my way I’d have a private instructor. Hah! Any suggestions are always welcome. Thanks Michele.

It’s been in my wishlist for the past few weeks. It’s so unique and practical at the same time. I like how it doesn’t have the brand showing up everywhere, it’s more subtle. So beautiful ♥️

I love the highlighter. Its smooth and soft, not chalky or glittery. Looks natural too. Just lovely! My favorite is Moonlit (it’s the only one I’ve tried lol); I think it’s the best for my skin tone. Thank you for your review and comparisons. ♥️

I went to the outdoor market at Bryant Park while I was in NY during November. I found a store that sold the most amazing candle. Twelve Nights by Fifth&Madison has become my favorite holiday candle. My new addiction for holidays.

    • admin

Sounds wonderful – thank you for sharing Ellen!

  • Lisa Murcer

Wow, I want to be at your house for Christmas. Just to meet you, and family.

Along, with the sensory overload! 😊😊❣️

  • Dianelys (SimplyDee Beauty)

I love candles too! I prefer fresher scents rather than holiday ones (some scents give me a migraine). Regardless, candles do change your mood, and the room’s atmosphere. Thank you for sharing your favorites for this season 🙂
