August Favorites // Makeup
Ofra Cosmetics // Highlighter in Rodeo Drive
Ka-pow! This highlighter is super high beam highlighting golden goodness. The gold with peachy undertone is reminiscent of Becca's Champagne Pop, but is a bit cooler with less peachiness. It's just a lot of fun. I had on a neutral face of makeup with a lot of muted warm hues, and I threw this on to go out for dinner and it pumped up the whole look instantly. A little swipe on the cheeks'll do you good!!
Viseart // Highlight and Sculpt Palette
The highlights in this palette are a satin finish and all lean a teensy bit warm in tone. They're so natural and beautiful, and I find I can use each shade. I use the top two as highlight, and the bottom one as eyeshadow. The sculpt colors are a great tone - not too warm, not too cool. I mix the top two together to use as contour, and use the bottom one for shadow. And the quality of Viseart is top notch. No surprises, no patchiness, not too powdery, stays on all day... can't say enough good things.
Viseart // Blusher Palette in Plum Bronze
Just like their other palettes, the quality is there. I like this formula for blush - they're silky smooth and not aggressively pigmented. I'm not a fan of anything that's hyper-pigmented, but it has to be buildable which these are. They're so easy to work with, and my favorite is the slightly shimmer bottom Bronze shade. It has a bit of coral in the warm brown and gives a lovely glow. I like mixing all the other colors, dipping my brush between the top plum and middle brown, and top brown and middle plum to add color to the apples of my cheeks.
Becca // Beach Tint in Guava
This product is like an instant look in a little tube. When I'm feeling super lazy, I'll apply a little concealer and bronzer, and then dab this onto my cheeks and lips. Voila - I look instantly younger and fresher. It's pretty amazing, and it's also water-resistant which makes it fairly long lasting... at least on the cheeks.
Surratt Beauty // Prismatique Lips in Cafe Societe
These Prismatique Lipsticks are sensational. I can't describe it any better, so here is the description from the Sephora site:
"Wear Prismatique Lips alone for sheer, glistening shine or layered upon other lip colors for a brilliant highlighting effect. The Japanese formula suspends multidimensional, shimmering pigments within rich, moisturizing color. It glides on effortlessly and has a luxurious feel."
I absolutely love the way this feels on the lips. Other colors are definitely at the top of my long "to buy" list.
Tarte // Animal Print Magnetic Palette
I couldn't resist this palette! This is my first proper magnetic makeup palette. I've never liked the looks of the Z Palettes and have heard they crack easily. I love that this has a sturdier plastic casing, and has a huge mirror!
Jouer Cosmetics // Luminizing Body Lotion
I was a little hesitant about getting this lotion. I had heard the scent was a little overwhelming, but I decided to give it a shot and am so glad I did. The perfume is definitely present, but thankfully I like it. It's very floral and I would not recommend this if you don't like floral scents. But the sheen it gives your skin is just perfect. I've tried a few other lotions and oils that give skin a glisten or natural glow and while I've enjoyed them, this one is just perfect. Great sheen, not glittery, a nice warm tone and is a great moisturizer.
My long-time favorite Diptyque scent has been Baies. I love the sweet warmth of the currants. But if I had to choose a scent family that is my favorite it would be citrus. So, I wasn't sure why I never tried any of their citrus scents. I was so happy I got this! It's a lemon verbena, citrusy, but with a grassy, fresh scent so it's not too sweet. It's really beautiful and perfect for late Summertime.
I hope everyone has had a lovely Summer and is looking forward to Fall as much as I am. I'm so excited for all the new beauty releases for Fall and Holiday!! xoxo
